Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Sheet is a meritable engineering plastic that is often not as well known as some other engineering plastics but it can however out perform its relatives in a number of significant areas.
Manufacturers produce engineering plastics that are slightly oversize in either diameter and/or thickness. This oversize tolerance, which is listed in the tables below, is provided to assist customers to produce very accurate items within the size shown and remove any minor surface imperfection.

Properties of UHMWPE Sheet:
- UHMWPE can out perform many other engineering plastic for abrasion resistance and it is probably one of the best materials for lining chutes and hoppers for products such as sand, concrete or any other highly abrasive moving product
- Has an incredibly low co-efficient of friction and is one of the lowest of all engineering plastics
- It will produce components with a very high life span with very low drag
- It is resistant to many dilute acids, solvents and cleaning agents
Applications for UHMWPE Sheet:
- UHMWPE has excellent abrasion resistance and is often used for lining chutes, hoppers
- It is also used for slideways and wear blocks in aggressive environments
- It is often found in food production environments where high volumes of containers need to be guided along conveyors or production lines
- UHMWPE Sheet has very low moisture absorption and so is found in some high demand areas of marine applications
- UHMWPE is sometimes used in cryogenic components due to its low operating temperature abilities

Summary:
UHMWPE Sheet or Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene sheet has an greatly low coefficient of friction which offers amazing sliding properties and is one of the best engineering plastics for wear/abrasion resistance. UHMWPE Sheet is tough even at low temperatures, low weight. It is easy to weld although however it is difficult to bond.
