GE8UK Spherical Plain Bearing (GE8C)
Spherical plain bearings are two-piece plain bearings designed for bearing arrangements where alignment movements between shaft and housing need to be accommodated, or where oscillating or recurrent tilting must be allowed at comparatively slow sliding speeds.
The GE8-UK features a specialized steel-on-PTFE sliding contact surface that makes it maintenance-free. During the initial run-in period, PTFE (a high-performance plastic) particles are transferred to the opposing running surface, effectively filling any microscopic surface irregularities on the inner ring. This creates an exceptionally smooth operating surface where components mate perfectly.
Construction consists of:
- Inner ring with convex outer surface
- Outer ring with concave inner surface
- Steel-on-PTFE sliding contact surface
Key dimensions:
- Inside diameter: 8mm
- Outside diameter: 16mm
- Inner width: 8mm
- Outer width: 5mm
This bearing's design provides excellent load-carrying capacity while accommodating misalignment. Common applications include automotive suspension systems, engines, industrial machinery, and any application requiring both rotational movement and angular adjustment capabilities.

Dont waste your money. these have a fair amount of axial play in them. i wont be ordering them again. Dont waste your money on these and get the genuine SKF versions if you want no play. In addition, the bearing material appears to be in a recess which doesnt actually contact the spherical surface. instead, the ball just rides on the two outer edges of metal so its a metal on metal type bearing really and with lots of play in it.
