The GE80UK-2RS features a steel-on-PTFE sliding contact surface, making it maintenance-free. During initial operation, PTFE particles transfer to the opposite running surface, effectively filling microscopic surface irregularities on the inner ring. This creates an optimally smooth surface where components mate perfectly, ensuring reliable performance.
