SD18X24X3 INA Polyurethane Double Lip Oil SealSeals are crucial in safeguarding bearings from contamination. The use of inadequate seals can result in the intrusion of contaminants into the bearing or allow an excessive amount of lubricant to leak out. The presence of solid contaminants can cause wear and fatigue in both the raceways and rolling elements.
INA sealing rings were specifically designed for needle roller bearings and have been on the market for nearly fifty years. Throughout this period, they have demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in the automotive and engine manufacturing sectors, as well as in machinery and equipment construction.
There are two plastic parts that make up the sealing ring. Reinforced polyamide (black) is used to make the seal carrier, while thermoplastic PU elastomer (green) is used to make the seal lip area. Depending on the shaft surface condition, SD sealing rings can also be used as wipers on shafts that are undergoing axial motion and permit stroke speeds of up to 3 m/s.
