  • Self Aligning Ball Bearings
Technical Information on Self Aligning Ball Bearings

SKF Techical Data for Self-aligning Ball Bearings

     Self Aligning Ball Bearing

    Bearing Designs

The SKF self aligning ball bearing was invented by the SKF Group. It has two rows of balls & a common sphered raceway in the outer ring. The bearing is consequently self aligning & insensitive to angular misalignments of the shaft relative to the housing. It is particulary suitable for applications where considerable shaft deflections or misalignment are to be expected. Additionally the self aligning ball bearing has the lowest friction of all rolling bearings, which enables it to run cooler even at higher speeds.

SKF produces self aligning ball bearings in the following designs:

    1. Open self aligning ball bearings
    2. Sealed self aligning ball bearings
    3. Open type self aligning ball bearings with extended inner rings
