Nylon 6 sheet is a great wear and abrasion resistant material and is a plastic well suited to machining. It has high mechanical strength and good sliding properties. This plastic is stiff, has good creep stability and is resistant to a good number of oils and chemicals. Our black Nylon 6 sheet has MOS2 which is a very effective graphite type self lubricant and our blue Nylon 6 sheet is heat stabilised to help reduce distortion caused by machining.

Why Choose Nylon 6 or Nylon 6.6?
There is very little difference between the two plastics but here they are anyways for your benefit:
Nylon 6:
- Greater size range availability
- Slightly more economical/cheaper
- Marginally more impact resistant - however it is also slightly softer
- Can be less high temperature resistant
Nylon 6.6:
- Nylon 6.6. is very slightly better at operating with higher temperatures
- May be slightly harder
- Slightly more expensive
- A smaller size range and slightly less impact resistance
